I'm proud to call Texoma and Wichita Falls home! I was born and raised in Iowa Park, TX, where I graduated from High School. I went on to attend Midwestern State University and received my Bachelor of Art in Mass Communication in May 2010. I grew up in a Christian home with a wonderful family, that I thank each and every day I have. I was born to a couple who, due to somecircumstances, could not keep a baby in their lives. So, I was placed up for adoption, and 3 weeks later, taken home by who I call today, my mom and dad. They chose me, and I couldn't have asked for a better family. 8 Years later, they adopted my sister from China, who continually makes me feel old (even though I'm not!).
Radio and media in general has always been a passion of mine. In 2005, I began working at KAUZ Newschannel 6 as a camera operator. I was only a sophomore in High School. Within 2 years, I was the lead technical director. After 3 years, I was named Operations Manager and served in that position for 2 years. My junior year of college, I began to wonder if Media was really for me, so I took a sabbatical from TV and joined the Sheppard AFB Chaplain Corps as the coordinator of their nationally recognized student ministry center. I enjoyed working with military students from all branches, helping them to grow in their faith and lives as individuals, and as members of our armed services. After assisting to reopen the Air Force's premiere multi-million dollar Solid Rock Café at Sheppard Air Force Base, I realized that I loved working with our nation's finest, but a part of me was missing. It was the TV blood in me that was calling me back. I bid farewell to the Sheppard AFB Chapel, and accepted a job back at KAUZ, this time as Creative Services Director. And that's where I reside now. I enjoy making television commercials and graphic design for advertising clients every day.
So, that's my full time job, but I must say that I am truly blessed to have the "part-time" KMOC family in my life. Music has always been a passion of mine, no matter the genre. Christian music is where I find my inner peace, and am reminded that no matter what, he's going love me, and I'm always going to need him.
In March 2007, I accepted a position with KMOC as the Weekends morning host. I was later offered to be on Middays, every weekday from 11-3, and that's where I've been ever since. In my spare time, you'd probably find me watching the skies for weather changes, because weather thrills me! Or you'll catch me grabbing a bite to eat at the best eateries a town has to offer… it's my guilty pleasure!
