MAKES URGENT APPEAL

Numerous Disasters Have Exhausted Local Chapter’s Budget

Wichita Falls, TX

For the first time in history, the American Red Cross of  North Central Texas, may be unable to respond to local emergencies.

The local chapter has been hit by the “Perfect Storm”

• Loss of United Way Funding
• World Wide events that have drawn funds away from the local chapter
• Large expensive events such as blizzards and ice storms
• Tough Economic conditions; more people are living with fewer resources due to lost jobs which creates a situation where their own ability to recover after a disaster incident such as a home fire is seriously diminished.  Because of this, more individuals and families have needed the American Red Cross’ help and to a greater degree than during similar periods in recent past.
• The local Red Cross does not receive funding from the federal government or the National Red Cross organization.  We are locally funded by the generous people of North Central Texas.

This “Perfect Storm” has depleted funds to a dangerous level.

We need immediate community support so that we are able to respond to the next local disaster.

Monetary donations are requested and may be made by sending a check to the local chapter at 1809 5^th Street, Wichita Falls, TX  76301.
